About Linda Jenkins

Linda Jenkins provides organization leaders with consultation, resources, and training to govern and manage ethically, effectively, and inclusively. Her services provide leaders with practical strategic approaches to achieving their missions.

Her customized services include strategic planning, board assessment and development, program assessment and evaluation, and disrupting unconscious bias training. She provides her services virtually and in-person through one-on-one and group consultation, online surveys, webinars, workshops, and meeting and retreat facilitation. Linda tailors her services to fit client needs for practical strategic solutions. She has owned her own company – Jenkins Consulting Group (JCG) – for sixteen years. JCG has successfully completed 83 projects for 67 organizations.

Before establishing JCG in 2007, Linda honed her professional skills through positions with the City of Long Beach, the City of Tulsa, and the Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW).  Her management positions with the City of Long Beach included serving as the Police Department’s first civilian Budget Administrator and the Health Department’s Administrative Officer. As Community Investments Vice President at TAUW, she redesigned and continually enhanced the tools and procedures it used to allocate funds to health and human services agencies. She consistently received “outstanding” quality ratings from TAUW’s volunteers.

JCG services encompass the most current trends in nonprofit governance and leadership. Linda is an active BoardSource member and has been a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant® (CGC) since 2012. As a CGC, she offers governance training using BoardSource-approved curriculum in the following areas: roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards, board-staff partnership, board structure, board’s role in fundraising, the board-building cycle, and board performance assessment. Also, she is certified to interpret and present results from the
BoardSource Board Self-Assessment (BSA).

Driven by her passion to help nonprofit leaders create inclusive workplaces and diverse and inclusive boards, Linda has earned the following three certifications:

She uses her expertise to provide unconscious bias, inclusive language, and inclusive meetings workshops for nonprofit staff and volunteers.

Linda completed Leadership Tulsa in 1999 and North Tulsa Development Council in 2011. She is serving as District 1 Representative and Secretary on the City of Tulsa’s Sales Tax Overview Committee. She served on the board of directors for YWCA WomenShelter (Long Beach, CA),
Youth Services of Tulsa, Friends of Tulsa City-County Libraries, and Association for Talent Development (ATD) – Tulsa Chapter. She served on the ATD Tulsa Chapter board for eight years including two terms as President. Her community service awards include an Evergreen Spirit
Award (AIDS Coalition of Tulsa), a Leadership Vision Award (Tulsa C.A.R.E.S.), and a Good News Award (Camp Fire USA Green Country Council).

Linda moved to Tulsa when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Holland Hall Upper School as Student Council President and Girl of the Year. She holds an A.B. degree in History and Urban Studies from Princeton University and a master’s degree in Public Affairs from the LBJ School at the University of Texas at Austin. She received the Claudia Taylor (Lady Bird) Johnson Fellowship to
support her studies at the LBJ School.

Linda is an avid women’s basketball fan. She loves to sharpen her coaching and teamwork skills by watching NCAA and WNBA games. She has traveled to eleven Women’s Final Fours. For more information about Linda and JCG, visit https://jenkinscg.com.
